Author Visits
Each year, the Author Visits Program brings published authors and illustrators to the district’s 27 schools. The program also provides autographed books to many students who have been identified as among those who would particularly benefit from receiving a book to keep as their own.

The goal of the Author Visits Program is to improve academic achievement by increasing students’ interest in reading and writing. However, all areas of the curriculum benefit as teachers and library media specialists create units and hands-on, interactive activities that complement authors and illustrators subject matter as books are integrated into the students’ daily lessons and assignments.

Care Share Program
The Care Share program was established 21 years ago by former Putnam City counselor Penny Poe. She saw a need in Putnam City and decided to do something about it by creating a program to help families in need. Throughout the school year this program provides new shoes and new and used coats to students who cannot otherwise afford them. Care Share has also taken on the role of Santa during the holidays, ensuring that no child goes without a gift to unwrap. To date more than 10,000 students have benefited from this program. Golf Tournament
Each year the Putnam City Public Schools Foundation hits the golf course and enjoys a day in the great outdoors. The funds raised through this event are used to support various programs of the Foundation. Dates and detailed information will be listed in the news and events section of this website.

We invite anyone and everyone to participate in our golf tournament. This is a fundraising event and certain guidelines do apply. For more information contact the Foundation office.

Principal for a Day
The goals of the Principal for a Day program are to create awareness and understanding of issues facing Putnam City schools and to open doors to business-education partnerships.

Each year businessmen and women meet with designated principals for a day “on the job.” Participants have an intense, eye-opening experience, and in turn, the principals enjoy showing off their schools.

Scholarships
Each year the Putnam City Public Schools Foundation offers a variety of scholarships to Putnam City students and teachers. Learn More »
